AGAIN THIS YEAR: MINORS MUST HAVE A SIGNED WAIVER BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN! A University of Maryland policy requires that all minors (under the age of 18) bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Minors WILL NOT be permitted to fence in the absence of this waiver. We encourage you to bring this waiver with you to the event to give to the bout committee with your event fee. There will be copies available at the bout committee but we ask you to please have them completed before getting on the registration line to expedite our registration process. E-mails will be sent to all preregistrants periodically to remind you of this waiver. Thank you for your cooperation! The waiver for the 2017 Cherry Blossom Open will be available soon.

There will be an equipment check, and it will be staffed by at least two armorers at all times (plus some volunteers at busy times). For those arriving early (or local) there will be an equipment check Friday night, time to be announced.

Event Fee: $40.00 online, $75.00 at the door
Fencers can only fence one event per day!

PRE-PAYMENT MUST BE MADE COMPLETELY ONLINE FOR THE REDUCED RATE TO APPLY.

Special Discounts:

The first three A-rated fencers who register will fence absolutely free. This will be processed as a refund at the time of check-in; to receive this discount, an A-rated fencer must pre-register and pay online. A-rated fencers who do not pre-register and pay completely online will not be eligible for this discount.

Current graduate/undergraduate college students with a valid student ID are eligible for a $10 discount off of each event fee. This will be processed as a refund at the time of check-in; to receive the discount, students must present valid ID at the time of check-in. Students who do not pre-register and pay online are still eligible for this discount, but will be required to pay $75.00 for each event fenced.

REFUND POLICY: The registration portion of the entry fee and any AskFRED surcharges are non-refundable. The event fees will be refunded for an athlete who needs to withdraw and does so in writing (or e-mail) on or before March 10, 2017. After this date, no portion of the entry fees will be refunded.

If you arrive after the close of registration, you may only fence at the discretion of the Bout Committee and you will be subject to additional fees.

Deadline: Online registration closes at 11:59pm on 3/24/2017.

Tournament Format: One round of pools with direct elimination and no fence-off for third place. In all events with more then 64 fencers there will be an 80% cut from pools into DEs. Tournament will be run in accordance with all US Fencing rules.
